Welcome

Here you’ll find both short and long-form pieces that wander through topics of theology, culture, reading, pastoral ministry, etc. While this is a space for my own musings and mullings, I hope to offer well-rounded thinking from a Christian worldview that takes into account God’s beneficent sovereignty in and over all things–rendering all to be found in the cosmos a gratuitous gift. In other words,

all is grace.

A little about me

I live in Mesa, Arizona with my best friend, Sydney, and our lil’ homies: Knox (4) and Piper (1). I gladly serve as the Pastor of Young Adults at Red Mountain Community Church (EFCA).

I am a fanboy of the writings of CS Lewis and Herman Bavinck (I know, real original right?); novelists Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (weird flex but yeah),Cormac McCarthy, and Graham Greene; and the greatest influence in my life outside of the people directly in it and the Bible would be the writing and teaching ministry of John Piper.

My interests cover a wide swathe of topics related to history, theology, and pastoral ministry (I won’t bore you or give way to hubris by going into further detail about that). My writing has somehow been accepted by publications such as Logos, Mere Orthodoxy, Bible Study Magazine, Credo Magazine, and For the Church.

In May of 2021 I graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where I studied the history, theory, and praxis of Christian missions and theology from the Majority World context.

Finally, and potentially most important for getting a true look into my perverse psyche, I believe in sharing in the sufferings of Christ and am therefore a supporter of Everton Football Club, University of Tennessee football, and the Phoenix Suns. (Pray for me, saints!).

If you are going to subscribe to any Substacks, I would recommend “Digital Liturgies,” “The Path Before Us,” “Christian Ethics in the Wild,” and “You Are Not Your Own” to start.
